In 2006, the markets of molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium frequently fluctuated, until the markets go on to today, there are some questions that need experts related and authorized departments to give answers. Such as whether the price can hold on a high level？ How we should look on the adjustment of welfare enterprises' revenue and the export rebates’ influence on the industry of molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium. So the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association-molybdenum branch, the China Tungsten Industry Association and Chinaccm get together to hold the Fourth 2006 Molybdenum, Tungsten, and Vanadium Market Position Seminar, leading domestic market sources to discuss, to study and to hold the molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium market.
After having passed a period of the first half of 2005 when molybdenum prices had risen steeply, the market of molybdenum in the first half of 2006 had taken a comparatively moderate tendency. Molybdenum prices had been still kept on a high level and had moved in the range of US$50 - 60 per kg. for ferro-molybdenum and also in the range of US$22.5 - 26 per lb. for molybdenum oxide. Although the capacity to roast molybdenum concentrates was estimated to be still short, the quantity of molybdenum concentrates to be supplied to the world market in the first half of 2006 was forecasted to be larger than that to be demanded. However, many factors to arise disturbance of molybdenum supply in the second half of 2006 are effusing.
The price of tungsten product was also on a high level. The price of ferro- tungsten surged between US$24-35 per kg wo. Generally the price in March should rise up, but this year it fell down, and in July, it should be the time that both the world market and the domestic market go to low season, but the tungsten market rebounded contradicting to the normal market. The tungsten market in China even in the world no longer went on the traditional track. There were a lot of unsure factors in the market.
The price of ferro-vanadium in the international market for the first half of 2006 had been still maintained on a high level in comparison with the considerably fluctuated price of ferro-vanadium in 2005 but had rather moved in the boxed range. The price of ferro-vanadium in the international market had risen steeply to a level of US$120 - 130 per kg. in April- May of 2005 but fallen to US$36 per kg. in August of the same year. This large fluctuation of price for ferro-vanadium was clearly due to the speculation and the price of ferro-vanadium in the first half of 2006 moved in the boxed range of US$47 per kg. as a higher side to US$36 per kg. as a lower side.
As the molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium sources of China are hold a large share in the world, these products' influences on the world will get more and stronger with the nation's further opening. Producers in abroad countries are getting more and more attention on Chinese molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium market, they hope to take the chance of the seminar to discuss the domestic and international market with domestic producers and related sources.

It is an organization for government to strengthen management of tungsten industry, to promote china tungsten further reformation, to speed industry structure adjustment and to prosper tungsten industry.
